Giving Gives Agency
We offer a subscription because cards are time-consuming to buy; when you need one, you usually need it right then. I have access to beautiful cards that one might not find in one shop, and each month has a theme. I don't often think of how our subscribers use the cards after we ship. But last week, I got an email from a subscriber that stopped me in my tracks. Here is a portion of it.
I brought your beautiful cards with me or roomie brought my mail… to Stanford! And I had them to thank nurses and staff during my three week stay (5 Stanford and then 11 day acute rehab to get strong enough to get up my steps with a brace on. I don’t know if you can fathom how good it felt to give them a card they didn’t expect?! And each unique. There’s nurses, physical therapy and occupational therapy people, recreational therapy and the doctors and the caseworker and social worker. I had to double up some departments but it worked and they all know each other for acute inpatient. How can I truly explain??? Having ***agency where lots has happened out of my control and it was challenging to see a silver lining everyday… but 95% people were very kind maybe 99%
Sometimes customers touch my heart. I wrote a note to this one. Writing cards is a great way to express feelings. Try it.
And this week I made this soft flatbread from Healthyveganeating's instagram.
1 cup almond flour
3 tbsp psyllium husk
1/2 cup room temp water
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp garlic powder ( you can get creative here)
In a bowl combine all ingredients. Mix until combined. Let sit for 5 minutes.
Bring dough together into a ball Break into 2-4 equal portions. Roll between two layers of parchment paper.
Heat pan to medium heat. Allow to cook 1-2 minutes or until edges are dry. Flip and cook on other side. Enjoy!
